Our tour leads along the river Mosel to the town Beilstein, the "Sleeping Beauty" of the mosel area. We stop shortly to visit the historic town centre below the remains of the castle. Then carry on to Cochem with its famous Reichs-Castle. Take a stroll through the old town with historic towers and gates, picturesque half-timbered houses, the market square and the beautiful Mosel promenade.
We drive alongside the lower Mosel and the Calmont, Europe´s steepest vineyard until we reach the city of Koblenz. The lower Mosel is also known as the „Terrace Mosel“ because vineyards are grown like terraces.
Next stop: Koblenz, UNESCO world heritage site and one of the oldest cities in Germany being more than 2000 years old. You will learn more about its history and sights on the city tour. Our first highlights are the parks of the former horticultural show right next to the famous fortress Ehrenbreitstein. Enjoy the spectacular view on the „Deutsches Eck“ (the confluence of Rhine and Mosel) and the Kaiser Wilhelm statue from the observation deck, specially built for the former show.
Subsequently we drive to the „Deutsches Eck“ where you will have several hours to take a walk on the Mosel promenade and to explore the sights of the old town, such as the Herz-Jesu-Cathedral, the electoral palace, the Schaengel-Fountain, Augenroller-Grimace and the basilica of St. Castor. You will also have the possibility to take a boat tour on the Mosel or to take a ride in a cable car over the river. We start our return journey at 5 p.m.
